General Information:

HARIG meets at the Park Pavilion, Barrack Lane, Harwich, Essex, CO12 3NS. UK on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Meetings start formally at 8pm and visitors are always welcome.

The 2020 Programme of Meetings include:

All traditional HARIG meetings and events are now postponed until the Government guidance on the Covid-19 Virus changes.

This is unfortunate but necessary in the current situation. We will notify members when the situation changes.

However in conjunction with Colchester Radio Amateurs, there will be a fourth joint VIRTUAL meeting via Skype on Thursday 16th July - at 7.30pm local time … It will be a talk and demo by Jonathan G0DVJ entitled “The extra boxes in my shack”.

    Synopsis:
We all have lots of equipment in our shacks (radios, power supplies, ATUs, rotator controllers etc.). In this session, Jonathan will describe what OTHER ‘boxes' he has added to his shack, explaining why, what they do, and how they are connected and used. The ‘boxes’ discussed may include filters, switches, antenna controllers, sequencers, and audio equipment etc.

To participate in this virtual meeting, please download and make a Skype ID if you don't already have one. Then search within Skype for "G0DVJ M4J" and send an add request (wave). Jonathan will then add you to his contact list as well as the CRA Virtual Meeting group. You will receive a Skype scheduled call for the meeting before the day. Accept that and have Skype open at the time and date of the meeting and you will be joined automatically. You do not need a camera or microphone but can use them if you have.

The 2020 Events Programme includes:

  • CANCELLED : May 25th: Field Radio Day and Social on the Bank Holiday Monday at Val's QTH
  • To be confirmed: August 23rd: International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend (ILLW) GB4HLH at the Harwich High Light.
